The Dragon of the Red Dawn is by Mary Pope Osborne. I am not sure how many Magic Treehouse books I have read, about 23 probably. This one is a very good book, my second favorite Magic Treehouse book. I liked it because Jack and Annie rode the dragon on the cover. She was a helpful dragon. Annie and Jack went to old Japan to get the secret of happiness for Merlin because Merlin is ill. They are sent to Edo City in Old Japan by Teddy and Kathleen, which is now called Tokyo, Japan. My favorite part is when they are riding the dragon and it commanded rain clouds from its mouth to put out the fires in Edo. Annie and Jack are helped by Basho the poet and are called Baku and Koto. I think you should read this book if you like dragons or if you want to feel like you are in Old Japan. I also like the illustrations on chapter 2 because it shows The Imperial Garden.

Celery Stalks at Midnight
This book was very exciting! (It didn't really have anything about celery stalks though) I liked the part where they jumped into the trash truck. This book was about a great adventure by Chester the Cat, Harold the Dog (the shaggy one), and Howie the dachshund. They are trying to find Bunnicula because he got out of the garage the first night in the book. Chester took them to a lot of places and was stabbing white vegetables with toothpicks, thinking they were alive! My favorite character in the story is Bunnicula because they were making a play about castle Bunnicula, and he was sleeping the whole time, and they won first prize for the most unusual pet. I think you should read this book if you like adventure books with animals.
